Gather, Gathers, Gathering

Debra Murray is a Girramay woman, based in the Jumbun Aboriginal Community of the Murray Upper area situated north-west of Cardwell, Queensland Australia. Almost all of this region is mountainous (rising to peaks of about 900 metres about sea level) and falls within the Girramay National Park.

 

Debra has a strong connection to country and tradition and comes from a strong line of Girramay artists. While specialising in ceramics, Debra has also expanded her portfolio into painting and printmaking and has skills in arts worker management.

 

She is noted for her her use of form and of traditional colours and design.

    Shipping: Any times that are returned will be shipped at your cost. Insurance: We strongly recommend insuring all arts, crafts and fragile products. As we hand our items to reputed freight, postage and courier companies we cannot accept returns of items purchased that have been damaged due to their negligence. 

  • The Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre is located in Cardwell, Far North Queensland. The centre represents artists from nine Traditional Owner Groups, the Nywaigi, Gugu Badhun, Warrgamay, Warungnu, Bandjin, Girramay, Gulgnay, Jirrbal and Djiru people.
